Pete Lynn
has played guitar and percussion all of his life, including 25 years of pro / semi pro work in all aspects of the music industry. As a Stripe and a solo workshop leader, he's worked with many public and private sector organisations - as a guitarist / precussionist he's well regarded and has worked with many well known musicians through his session, studio and label management work, including Steve Adler of Guns 'n' Roses. Sue Scargill
has been a NNEB qualified Nursery Nurse for the past 15 years and has been employed in a variety of roles within the profession ranging from the private sector to educational establishments and Social Services. In more recent years, working as self employed, Sue has worked as a face painter and circus skills workshop leader. Sue has always valued music and the joy of singing with children as a social, emotional and educational experience that breaks all barriers and conveys many feelings and life events.

The Rainbow Stripes are Pete Lynn and Sue Scargill - together we host incredibly popular music and movement workshops for the under sevens, although we can work to any theme and up to KS2 level. Our current clients include SureStart centres all over the Notts area, playteams and outreach groups, the local Libraries Services in Nottingham and Derbyshire, local area playteams and many other public and private organisations.

What We Do...
"RAINBOW STRIPES" - Professionally led, multigenerational / fully inclusive music group, hosted by two of Nottingham's favorite wigglers and gigglers! Children and carers / parents sing and dance some old favorites and some original songs, accompanied by live guitar and bongos, while being engaged in activities and games of all types (audio, visual, kinesthetic etc), having a joke along the way. Usually 45 minutes in duration, 15 minutes set up / take down, over the last seven years we have worked with local councils, the libraries service, Surestarts, playteams and have had success in the private sector.
There are many, many registered benefits to a well-hosted music group - children and adults are focused and engaged in a multigenerational, shared yet transcient shared environment, each is encouraged to feel valued both as a member of a group and as an individual. Familiar songs and activities are combined with a fluid list of varied activities, each designed to retain focus and work on a different aspect of preschool development. Each session is infinitely variable, which is only possible with a responsive, live source of music.
Music is the first human language and is spoken fluently by every person in the world, whatever their circumstances or needs; everything from mathematics to emotional wellbeing can be reinforced during a session. We believe strongly in what we do and invite everyone at our sessions to share in our passion!
